True Worship

I. Text:

“Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when
you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for
salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father
is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth.”” (John 4:21-24 NKJV)

II. True Worship is a life given fully to God

A. This women had religion but not relationship

B. “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to
present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living
sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical,
intelligent) act of worship.” (ROMANS 12:1 AMP)


III. True worship comes from a relationship with the Father in spirit

A. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of
God,” (Romans 8:16 NKJV)


IV. The Father is seeking true worshippers

A. “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to
show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…”
(II Chronicles 16:9 NKJV)

B. “I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have
sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be
called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’ “And he arose
and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father
saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed
him.” (Luke 15:18-20 NKJV)
